David Eynon first came to the Falkland Islands in 1970 as a travelling teacher. He completed his three year contract and returned to England to take a degree and then work in the North Sea until 1981. He met Falkland Islander Carol Watson whilst working as a travelling teacher and they married in Devon in the United Kindgom in 1974. They returned to the Falklands in 1981with their children and spent two months on a remote island searching for the wreck of the 'Conquimbana'. They then got caught up in the war and once stability had been restored set up their company S.A.M.S. at their premises on the Stanley Harbour front now known as The Boathouse in January 1985. David has been diving since he was fourteen and commercially since 1974. His passion for diving in the Falklands resulted in setting up the Wreck Survey Group and being increasingly enthusiastic about all matters relating to the marine environment especially beneath the waters of the Falkland Islands. He has produced two underwater videos and has filmed for the BBC and is now working on a book series and is continually striving to improve his portfolio of photographs above and below the waters of the Islands. Carol
has been a steadying influence throughout, and plays a vital role in
the running of SAMS. With Leeann, their daughter, they have set up from
scratch the Retail outlet, which is primarily aimed at the Tourism and
Local market. Tel:
